Elevating yourself 61 floors above ground level may spark a certain fear of heights, however, an exception is to be made when guesting at the Banyan Tree Bangkok. Sipping dirty martinis at the lofty Moon Bar as night falls has never been so glamorous.  Famed for its views of “Asia’s Vegas”, Banyan Tree is a hotel that encapsulates the city  in each and every sense. Since opening in 2002, the Banyan Tree has been the iconic landmark propping Bangkok’s skyline. Located in Sathon, a bustling area neighbouring the city’s Central Business District, the five-star darling is isolated enough that it provides quiet from outside mayhem, yet close enough to explore the streets, laneways, markets and clubs that are a quintessential part of Bangkok’s DNA.  Besides harbouring a killer view, the property is also renowned for its award-winning restaurants, bars and alternative health remedies. Their impressive health club, hosts professional yoga, aerobics, pilates and Muay Thai classes, daily. The space also features a sauna and steam room fit for royalty. Walking through the area you’ll be struck with a feeling of awe. Nature is repeated throughout the hotel complex – to provide an al fresco feel and centre you in one of the worlds most concrete palaces. Remaining eco-friendly whilst serving it’s guests is of paramount importance to Banyan Tree. Bamboo, stone, botanicals and water are persistent elements in the hotel. The lobby welcomes you into a cool and elegant environment, as a courtyard waterfall and rainforest renders the space serene. Another impressive feature of hotel resort are the 327 mute coloured rooms and suites. Designed for those in transit, each room comprises of an office desk, views of the Bangkok, king beds lined with the finest linen and a freestanding marble bathtub. The most luxurious rooms, offer panoramic views and exclusive access to Banyan’s top levels. Out of the ten restaurants at your disposal, Vertigo, Aspara and Saffron are our Editors favourite. At Aspara, taste authentic Thai cuisine and  mingle with the locals on this converted rice barge/floating restaurant. If you wanted something more lavish then sky-high Vertigo and it’s alcoholic counterpart, Moon Bar, are spectacular. With cocktails that stand against Bangkok’s breathtaking surroundings, Banyan’s mixologists utilize local ingredients to shake and double-strain a drink reflecting the cities dynamic flavour. As stated earlier, Banyan Tree Bangkok is designed to accommodate those taking care of business, with 12 meeting and event spaces available for booking – each decked out with state-of-the-art equipment. On the tenth floor you will find  a high-ceilinged ballroom that can seat 400 pax. Roused yet? Explore this extraordinary property here.
